Soccer Girls Bi-District Playoffs Game

The Tomball Memorials girls soccer team advanced to their playoffs game this year, which was a huge goal for the girls soccer, including a long 13 wins and 4 loses, 2 tie games between Klien Oak and Tompkins. The coach and girls themselves are in appreciation and gratefulness for playing this season, applauding each other for their hard work and dedication to these last few plays.

“It feels really good that we had gotten into bi-district playoffs; it was very competitive this year so just being able to come into the top four was a really big accomplishment,” Coach Allison Abendschein said. The competitiveness was clear and coherent with the four loses that came from this season between Klien and Tomball schools. Even though the girls had a bit of loses, it didn’t stop them from working hard and being dedicated to the game and improving on their skills, including their professional sportsmanship between the other schools, regardless of a win or lose, keeping the team at a humble yet diligent character.

The girls keep a self-effacing mindset by reminding themselves not to play for themselves and for the sake of winning, but to play for each other and to have a good time. “Obviously, we sometimes butt heads, but we’re all strong enough and close enough to work through whatever, and we get along really well. I think that’s what really shows in the field when we play, we’re just so good to each other,” sophomore Nadia Elheimer said.

“We’re really good at playing together on the field, we always find ways to work together. Usually teams are really selfish, but I’d say we’re pretty open and considerate of one another,” freshman Molly Elder said.

The team’s outstanding dynamic when playing played a big role in their games. “We’re really good at playing together on the field. We always find ways to work together. Usually teams are really selfish, but I’d say we’re pretty open and considerate of one another,” Elder said. Factors, such as personality, trust, and dependability, are shown throughout our girls soccer team.

The team show the school and other opposing teams that playing competitively doesn’t mean you need to win a shiny gold metal and a tall trophy, but it’s about breaking down barriers, faith in each other, and having fun with one another.
