Despite the loss of several senior players from the previous year, the girls varsity volleyball team continues to dominate the season with a nearly undefeated record going 14-1 in district play, placing the team in first place with a 29-13 overall record.
“I’m really happy with the way the team looks this year, and how we’ve filled in the shoes of the people we’ve lost last year,” Senior Sydni Halfmann said.
The team’s success in part comes from the chemistry and camaraderie between the players, proving teamwork can improve and enhance the performance of each individual player on the team.
“Our team’s chemistry is really good this year,” Sophomore Allie Collier said. “Everyone relies on and learns from one another.”
Being on the team is more than just just attending games and performing well. Each season is an opportunity for the players to form meaningful bonds between each other and strengthen those relationships throughout the year.
“The thing I enjoy the most about being on the team is the friends I’ve made along the way. I made a best friend this year,” Junior Keira Pierce said.
The team’s last home game of the season, also Senior Night, is this Tuesday against Klein Oak. Come out and support these athletes as they take one more step closer to the playoffs.
