Diving into the water against their opponents, both girls and boys put their all into these first few games. Some players thought these games were like riding the tides, while others viewed them as a challenge, but all agreed they did their best and are happy to be back into the water polo season with their new teammates.
Steven Lambert, a sophomore player on the water polo team, is proud of the team’s progress throughout the season.
“It started out tough not going to lie, but over time it was nice watching our team improve,” Lambert said.
Several of the players share similar thoughts on the team’s improvement, focusing primarily on what makes them strong as a whole.
Senior player, Daniel Allen, makes sure that he can play to the best of his ability and skill.
“I personally enjoy offense a lot more. Playing defense means you have to keep up with the other team and to make sure they do not shoot a goal, so offense is a lot more fun for me,” Allen said.
Paola Delgado Wilhelm, a junior on the water polo team, remembers two great players who graduated last year. She enjoys being part of such a winning program.
“We lost two of our good players last year, but we came back strong. It’s been nice having this new team,” Delgado said.
The boys and girls fought hard in a district game against Bryan High School, the 24th of September. Let’s wish them luck in their next game, let’s go Wildcats!
