On Friday, August 4, 2023, a new class of students filed into the Tomball Memorial auditorium along with parents and siblings to hear as our APs shared some guidelines and advice for their upcoming high school experience.
The students learned some of the basic school rules, along with our school song and class chant from head cheer coach, Sarah Ellison. Once the students were released, they were free to walk around the cafeteria, where teachers and upperclassmen set up a club fair for students interest in new high school activities. Some students also went on guided tours of the school, just to get an idea of where everything was. This little taste of high school left students excited for the year to come.
“I’m really excited, because this is like a new beginning for us, a new era,” Miriam Darensbourg said. Darensbourg looks forward to high school events such as football games, and she wasn’t the only one.
“There’s just more things to do, I’m most excited about all the after school things, and meeting new people,” Ava Espinoza said. Of course, the excitement is not without nerves.
“I’m kind of scared, we’re going to school with eighteen year olds, and we all have a lot of freedom,” Janiyah Hightower said. Overall, the freshman orientation was a huge success, and hopefully eased some of these nerves. TMHS welcomes the incoming class of 2027 and wishes you all a great high school experience.
