On September 27th, Fine Arts attended TASA, where they displayed their team-work, talent, and passion for their respective arts. Students representing Orchestra, Choir, Band, Theatre, Drill, Color guard, and Visual Arts traveled all the way to Austin to perform on stage alongside the rest of the district.
“This magic was a representation of unity and teamwork, and it was presented on one the largest stages in Texas public education. A gifted portrayal of how a Tomball ISD student successfully navigates excellence,” Allison Suarez, Tomball ISD Director of Communications, said.
From the start, TASA was meant to spark creation and collaboration between students and staff. Honing their imagination, students designed and led musical selections, lighting, technology, and creation of original artwork for the performance.
Students were given the rare opportunity to experience real-world show concept and design, which fueled ingenuity, imaginative growth, teamwork, and respect for both students and teachers.
“It’s not every day that you get to work on a passion project with every single art department with every single school across the district. It truly felt as though we were surrounded with the most talented people Tomball ISD had to offer,” senior Kellen Highfield said.
Fine Arts is a place for passionate students to thrive, and events such as TASA were created to display that passion. Band, in particular, hold themselves to high standards in their performances, and have a taste for reaching their highest potential.
“Yes we practiced for TASA, but for other competitions we’re going to practice even more so the shows that come soon will be a lot better,” junior Christopher Zavala said.
